WHAT’S NEW?
He’s excited for a fresh start, but we aren’t excited about the increase in travel. He’s going to be traveling A LOT with a territory of everything West of the Mississippi. The con is that he’s going to be gone a lot, but the pro is that we are going to rack up on frequent flyer miles and hotel points!
Man,
I think I look forward to the weekends now….whew…when he starts traveling I am realllly gonna be antsy for the weekend to start. We are going to start a new Friday night
tradition in our house to make it extra special.
WORKING MOM
I
think I am finally getting adjusted to working during the day leaving her at
the sitter’s house. We are in a very
good rhythm with Michael working out in the mornings and me either on my lunch
breaks or in the afternoons. I am still breastfeeding, which means lots of
practicing my multi-tasking skills while I pump at work. Mark my words to say
that this has been the biggest commitment I’ve ever made in my life. It was
important to me to provide that for Blaire so I sunk my heals in with
determination and never looked back.
(that’s not to say that I don’t bitch and moan about it on a daily
basis. Sorry, Michael!)
I
must say that any working mother who breastfeeds for more than 6 months deserves a
metal in my opinion. I seriously have NO CLUE how some of you have made it for
an entire year…working…with multiple children. Wow. What a commitment.
TMI
for some of you…sorry!
Blaire
really likes going to the sitter’s house, too, which makes it easier on us that’s
for sure. She just hangs out with the
other kids and dogs all day and takes it all in. The sitter said she has a happy disposition
and that she wishes every baby were on a schedule like hers! Yeah you right!
NOT VERY WISE AFTERALL
Another
big topic in the Guillot household has been this big ole chicken finally
getting my wisdom teeth extracted. What
a wuss. Why the hell did I wait till I
was 31 to do it, you tell me! What they say
is true…the longer you wait, the harder it is! That’s for damn sure. I was down for the count for 8 solid days and
still not 100% for about 3 days after that.
I developed a dry socket and had an extreme sore throat, was nauseous
from the meds, had swollen lymph nodes in my neck and my jaw was locked
closed. NOT FUN.
The
worst part is due to the anesthesia, I had to refrain from nursing Blaire for 3
whole days…without enough milk in the freezer stock to last that long, we had
to introduce the dreaded formula. So, we
made it right to the 4 month mark of strickly breastfeeding and since then have
been supplementing formula in for 25% of her daily milk intake. As upsetting as this was for me (it’s a pride
thing!), it has proven to be a huge relief to remove some of the pressure off my
shoulders of having to produce ‘x’ amount a day. Again…TMI, so I’ll move on…
Good
news is that the teeth are all healed up and I am back eating normally and
working out again! YAY!!!
BABY BLAIRE
Let’s
face it…you all don’t care nearly as much about what’s going on with me and
Michael as the little celebrity, Blaire. So, I saved the best update for last.
Benchmarks:
Right
at 12 weeks, she rolled over (from tummy to back) for the first time. In the past 2 weeks, she has had a lot of “first”: she tried rice cereal for the first time
(which gave her a massive belly ache, so we are now trying oatmeal…next up=my
favorite…sweet potatoes!); she played in her outside swing; sat in her stroller
the normal way (instead of with her infant seat attached); played in her
jumperoo; had her first sleepover weekend in Thibodaux (of which, she did
GREAT! Stayed right on schedule)…hum…seems
like there’s something else but I can’t think of it.
Nicknames:
Babycakes,
pumpkin pie, “Baby Blaire”
Sleeping:
Like
a CHAMP. At 8 weeks, we were waking her
up to eat in her sleep at 10:30pm….at 12 weeks, we moved it from 10:30 to 7:30
and she’d sleep until I woke her up at 7am.
Now, at 19 weeks, she is sleeping from her 7pm bottle til I wake her up at 7am. Not too shabby. THANK YOU BABY
WISE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PEPPER!!!! I have yet to catch it on film because I get
too wrapped up in the moment. The first thing we do when we get home in the
evening is go in the backyard with Pepper.
It absolutely melts my heart to see my two favorite girls interact.
Blaire smiles so big sometimes it looks like her little fat cheeks are going to
explode. She kicks and squirms in my
arms with excitement to a point where I really have to hold on tight to not
drop her! It’s so fun!!!
Her
THUMB! She’s a mess with it. Around 12 weeks, she decided she no longer liked
her paci (which she used to use only for naps) and opted for her thumb
instead. Now I catch her in the act ALL
the time…as seen here:
side note: can anybody tell me why the heck some pictures upload into blogger side ways even though the original file is verticle?

HIGHLIGHT OF THE MONTH?
Betty
and I are neighbors again!
For
those of you who don’t know, Betty and I became friends at LSU. We were two of
the few girls going through rush who lived in Ghetto Graham, then both became
DZs. We were roomies in the DZ house for
a brief period of time until she had to go and ruin it by tearing her ACL dominating
in a flag football game! Way to go,
B!
Welcome
to the 70810 Tanory Family. I am SO excited
to have y’all only 5 minutes from us, driveway to driveway. HOLLA. Blaire is excited to have a friend in the ‘hood.
Despite the look on her face, she was all about watching Annie and Peter play.
Look how sweet Annie is! She kept
putting princess tiaras on Blaire’s head. Lol.
LOOKING FORWARD TO?
Michael’s looking forward to his first week on the new job and I’m looking forward to hitting the gym hard this week. After the hiatus from the wisdom teeth debacle, I’m ready to get after it again.
Blaire
and Pepper are probably looking forward to hanging out with us over the weekend
:)
